 HEART 2 HEART PARTY

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 15th - 5 pm - 8 pm

To celebrate our anniversary of being in business we are throwing a special party. Since February is the month to honour hearts, we came up with our own way to do just that.

We will be offering a selection of delicious tapas, beverages, and the chance to for you to make your mark on a collaborative painting. We will have some great tunes on, three easels set up and a selection of paints. Everyone attending can feel free to pick up a brush and doodle or make their mark. These three paintings will later be auctioned off, with the proceeds going to support the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC. This is a ticketed event - 25.00 per person, with tickets available at Tangerine Dream. Come out and join us, have some fun and offer up some heartfelt support for a very worthy cause!

January, February and March are MEGA WORKSHOP MONTHS

 If you sign up for any workshop valued at over 100.00 AND convince a friend to sign up too you get 20 "TANGERINE DREAM BUCKS." These come in 10 dollar denominations (so you can share with your friend if you like, or not) and can be spent in the gallery or applied to future workshops. 

We offer a wide range of workshops, from hand painted table runners, intuitive painting, vision board creating, art journaling, and felted jewelry making, to reverse glass painting, willow furniture making, perfume making, and paper crafts. We also offer weekly drop in sessions, and "create your own" workshops, for friends and family celebrating birthdays, weddings, or just wanting to get together, have some fun, and create.

It's 2014 - Crank Up The Colour!

To kick off the start of a brand new year Tangerine Dream is featuring the vibrantly colourful and imaginative works of three artists - Chantey Dayal, Lesley Fountain and Daciana Dao - in the gallery for the month of January.

"Chantey is a well known painter in the Cowichan Valley. She is uninhibited with her precocious, ripe and audacious use of colour. Her women suggest of warm matriarchal experiences. A tree with blossoms and returning fruits. Imaginary gardens that are inspired, playful and forceful foreshadow their potential and explosive beauty. Looking sweet and juicy with life, not to be lost to a breeze at any moment."

"Vibrant colours and a spontaneous, contemporary style characterize Lesley's work. She enjoys working with the combination of hidden and exposed, images and text, and densely layered textures and colours. Her acrylic paintings, which are painted in the intuitive style, are comprised of many layers of paint and texture, and often imagery surfaces of it's own accord. What do you see?"

Daciana's paintings are filled with analogies and symbols, like stones, dots, tears, flowers, apples, water, waves and houses. "I was born in Brasov, Transilvania - one of the most fascinating parts of Romania. I grew up in the picturesque and beautiful countryside surrounded by the legend of Dracula's castle. My art expresses that which my words cannot. Art is an ascension of the spirit, and once you let yourself be lifted in this colourful path it is absolutely impossible to go back to the point where you started your first step."
